Mariz Nigro wants to unravel the nostalgia of personal, yet sometimes shared, memories.

She uses a mixture of media, and both narrative and abstract imagery, to shine a light on the in-between spaces where time stands still. The things unsaid, the people missing, history hidden or untold. Like the question of whether a scream is a scream if nobody hears it, she gives the objects and characters in her paintings an ambiguity of existence.
